The assignment is worth 10 points.

Start listening to things with critical ears.  It will help you as a musician.

  1. In the the beginning of the performance, there were people giggling and laughing. When they started and throughout the performance, only the back of the students of performers were rocking. The lead started off good, but got pitchy on the higher notes. However the overall sound was quite phenominal. The sapranos were on point. The tenors did there scats quite well. Also the altos were great with their harmonies.

  2. They did a great job. But i think they could have listened to each other more than just sing their own part. To me it kind of sounded like they were trying to outwit each other on who can sing louder. They should have tried to atleast be a little more professional on how they act on stage. I saw a lot of people looking at other places and not really paying attention to what’s going on. THEY CAN FIX THAT VERY EASILY BY….. *DRUM ROLL*… FOCUSING AND PAYING ATTENTION!

  3. Overall, it was a very good performance, and they kept on beat most of the time. It seemed a bit unorganized in the way that the singers in the beginning were rocking back and forth, but it was almost certainly deliberate. I did notice at 1:28, one of the singers comes back from her solo (I think) and the people around her seem a bit distracted when she takes her place. Also, while it seems at first, only a certain group of people are going back and forth, some random people join in, and it looks bad. Other than these issues, this is a great rendition of the song.

  4. The performance itself was amazing. There were no flaws during the performance, which makes it a great one. In this performance, in which my group and i can relate, their tone overall was great. All the singers were at pitch perfect, specially the soloist. I really enjoyed the performance, it was a great one overall with all the great singers and the piano.

  5. This choir did a very good job with this performance. They kept a steady beat throughout the song. You could hear each sections part coming together in a good blend. They had nice dynamics that were very obvious. The only fault was that at times they sounded a bit sharp, especially the lead at times, but they were still very good. The song had a happy, and glee vibe to it that I really enjoyed. Overall they did a great job.

  6. The choir did a good job overall. One thing i did notice was that the lead singer was a little off at times. I liked the fact that everyone was singing at all times, as opposed to when our choir’s sopranos pause while the soloist is singing. The dancing was cute and the extra doo’s were a nice touch. I noticed that some choir members were talking and giggling before the song started, and it took away from their seriousness. For the most part it sounded like everyone knew their part well and it sounded beautiful.

  7. I liked this performance, although the higher notes did sound a little pitchy at times. I think it could’ve been improved on a bit, but that’s not to say that it wasn’t enjoyable. I liked it a lot and the overall quality of the performance was very good, just not excellent. However, they looked like they were having fun with it, even if they did mess up a bit.

  8. Overall, I think that this performance was great but what really seemed odd to me was the fact that there was only a small chunk of people in the back that were swaying. As it got toward the end of the song, I’ve noticed that the choir was beginning to sound a but pitchy. Personally, I thought that the beginning was a bit “iffy” but other than that, I thought the performance was great.

  9. The song over all was good, but definitely could have improved a bit more. It seemed as though they weren’t 100% giving it all they got. They could have listen to each other more because once and a while they went off beat. The whole group could have all moved together instead of just the people in the back. Overall good, but could have been amazing if they really tried.
